Treatment and Cures for ED (Erectile Dysfunction)
The treatment options for ED dysfunction include:
Oral Therapy (medications/pills) such as Viagra, Cialis and Levitra are very effective in treating erectile dysfunction in men who had treatment for prostate cancer. They are effective for men after surgery for prostate with radical prostatectomy, either open or robotically performed. These medications are also effective for men who underwent radiation therapy for prostate cancer either EBRT such as IMRT, proton therapy or brachytherapy. Cialis, Viagra and Levitra are also effective for many man on hormonal therapy for prostate cancer.
Penile Self-Injection Therapy (Trimix) involves self-injection of medications in the penis prior to intercourse using a small needle. It is effective for many men who are willing to self-inject the medication prior to intercourse.
External Vacuum Pump – is effective for some men but is somewhat cumbersome to use.
Urethral insertion of medications – is effective in some men
Penile implant (inflatable penile prosthesis): is a very effective surgical treatment for ED with high patient satisfaction rate. The sensation is not affected. Men can still have an orgasm after having penile implant.
