Bladder and Kidney Urinary Infections (UTI)

We treat bladder infections, kidney infections, and urinary tract infections in men and women.

The causes of frequent UTIs (bladder and kidney urinary tract infections) differ between men and women. We offer individualized evaluation and treatment for men and women.

In women, UTIs tend to be more frequent and start earlier in life. There is some genetic predisposition to UTI in some women.  Sometimes they are related to sexual activity.  Other causes such as bladder or kidney stones or incomplete bladder emptying can contribute to the risk of UTI.  Occasionally incorrect self-hygiene is the cause.

In men, UTIs tend to occur after age 50. Oftentimes they are related to incomplete bladder emptying, and enlarged prostate and can be associated with kidney stones or bladder stones.  Many other causes of UTIs exist.  A full urological evaluation would be performed to detect and treat UTIs.
