Blood in Urine (Hematuria)

We offer expert evaluation of both microscopically detected blood during urinalysis and visibly present blood in the urine.  Using advanced diagnostic algorithms tailored to women based on age and a number of risk factors, we decide what the optimal approach to evaluation and management of blood in the urine is.

Frequent UTI (Urinary Tract Infections) and Bladder Infections.

Frequent urinary tract infections are familiar to a lot of women. Some women are predisposed to frequent UTIs due to underlying anatomical or biological conditions. The good news is that oftentimes the problem can be managed successfully to eliminate or decrease the frequency of repeat UTIs.

Bladder Cancer and Kidney Cancer

Our fellowship-trained urologic oncologist specializes in the evaluation and management of renal cysts, kidney masses, and kidney cancer. We also provide an evaluation of bladder masses and treatment for early and advanced stage bladder cancer, including bladder biopsies, TURBT (transurethral resection of bladder tumor), and intravesical therapy with mitomycin C as well as BCG, and Interferon.  For those patients who need it we also offer chemotherapy, advanced radiation therapy as well surgical removal of the bladder (radical cystectomy) with a reconstruction of the urinary tract (urinary diversion).  We offer both ileal conduit urinary diversion and orthotopic neobladder creation.

Urinary Incontinence Care

Involuntary urine leakage occurs in many women at some point in their lives. It may be the predisposition from childbirth trauma, loss of muscular support, or a combination of the overactive and small capacity bladder.  Whatever the cause, we offer best-in-class evaluation and care for women with urinary incontinence.  We see women in their 20s and well into their 80s and 90s with these problems and help them manage these problems successfully.

Kidney Cysts

Kidney cysts occur frequently, especially in women over age 50.  Careful and personalized evaluation can determine whether the cysts are worrisome or do not pose a danger and can be safely observed in the absence of symptoms.
